On to Bucaramanga
Bucaramanga, Colombia, South America
We got up this morning, had our last breakfast at the resort, and then went down to the beach for about an hour to enjoy it just one last time. At 11:30am we had to come back up to the rooms to get our stuff packed up and get ready to leave. We had lunch at the resort and then hit the road by about 1:30pm.
It was supposed to be an eight hour drive to Bucaramanga from Santa Marta, but it ended up taking ten hours. There were some really pretty parts of the drive though, so that helped the time pass. The mountains out here are really beautiful.
We arrived in Bucaramanga at 11:30pm, checked in to our two rooms, and then got food delivered. Melissa, Vanessa, Luz Mery, Grandma, and I are staying at this aparthotel tonight, and they had booked one big suite thinking it would be enough for five of us, but they told us we needed two rooms. Melissa and I have decided (and were finally allowed) to pay for our own room so the other ladies can share the big room. We got food delivered to Luz Mery’s room and we all sat and had chicken and burgers at midnight, even though it looked like everyone was going to pass out at any minute. Tomorrow we hit the road again, but without JC, Paola, and Leo. They are staying to meet up with other family members, so we all said our goodbyes, and they headed off.
