Walking tour of Ljubljana

Walking tour of Ljubljana

Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe

Today was a lot of wasted time trying to get things done, but I did get to see a lot of Ljubljana and it is a beautiful city. I spent a few hours walking around trying to find a place where I could do my laundry, and get my haircut. These are pretty easy things to find in most cities, but for some reason, they proved to be nearly impossible tasks here. I was never able to get my haircut, which is pretty annoying, and I was finally able to do my laundry, but it was self-service so I had to waste two hours sitting there waiting for it.

In the middle of all this walking around I was able to go on the Ljubljana free walking tour that started at 11am. It was a really good tour with a good guide, the only bad thing was that there were about fifty people on the tour. Having big groups is annoying because it tends to slow us down and we can’t actually see as much. It was still pretty good though, and I got to see a lot of the city. We got really lucky with the weather today too because it was sunny all morning, even though the forecast had called for some rain.

It wasn’t until I went out for dinner that it started to rain, so I considered that a win. It would have been nice to get some pictures in the city at night, but with the rain on, I wasn’t hanging around. I’ve been trying to figure out my plan for tomorrow and I’m definitely going to get out to Lake Bled, and I’m hoping to fit in a trip to Lake Bohinj as well. I’ll have to see how I’m doing time-wise, and also how the weather is. The forecast is for rain again tomorrow, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’re wrong.
