Heading south to Slovenia

Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe

I had to get up at 7am to get ready to go today. I was out of the hostel by 7:30am and got to the bus station with plenty of time to get my Eurolines bus from the Erdberg station in Vienna. The bus was mostly empty, and it had wifi on board, so it made for a pretty easy ride to Ljubljana. We stopped once about half way for a thirty minute break, which I was very happy about. It gave me time to grab something for brunch, as I forgot to get something before I boarded the bus.

We arrived in Ljubljana at about 3pm and it took about twenty minutes for me to find my new hostel. It’s a really basic place, but I’ll have my own room for the next three nights, so that’s good. I hadn’t slept very well at the hostel last night, so when I got to my new hostel I took a little nap for an hour and then headed out to see the city. Unfortunately, but the time I started walking into the town, the rain found me again. It seems like I just can’t catch a break with the weather lately. It wasn’t coming down too badly though, so I powered through.

It looks like Ljubljana is a beautiful city. I only walked around for about an hour or so, but I really liked what I saw. I’ll be taking a free walking tour tomorrow, so hopefully I have some nicer weather and I’ll get to see more of the city then. I found a really cool place for dinner called Centralna Postaja, where I had two small slider burgers and tried a Slovenian beer. It was excellent food, and a decent price, so I’ll probably be going back there sometime in the next few days.
