Shopping day for guayabera
Bogota, Colombia, South America
Today was a bit of a strange day. I got up and tried to get as much stuff done as possible. I’m still working on organizing my trips to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. I spent most of the morning on the computer doing that, and then I left the hotel at 1:30pm. I was supposed to meet Melissa at 2pm at a mall in the north of the city so we could go shopping for my guayabera. I waited at the mall for just over an hour before hearing from Melissa. She had taken a nap and her alarm never went off to wake her up.
I was just about to get a taxi to come back to the hotel before I got a phone call from her. She felt really bad and got to the mall in ten minutes, so we got to do our shopping after all. I need this guayabera for the wedding that we’re going to on Saturday in Santa Marta. There was a store that was in the mall that had nice hand made guayaberas, so we found one that suited and fit me. It was a little more expensive than I had expected, considering the shirt and trousers are just made of linen, but it came to about £85 for the outfit.
We went to a nice organic restaurant to have lunch/dinner, which was excellent. We then went out and found me a pair of shoes to wear with the guayabera, so now I’m all set for this wedding. Melissa dropped me back off at the hotel around 10pm and then we’re going to meet up tomorrow to go out for the day. We are going to have a picnic in a town just north of the city, so that should be nice. Let’s hope for good weather!
