Quiet day in San Pedro
San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, South America
I had a really quiet day today, but it was great! I was in a really good mood from the moment I woke up, and everything just seemed to work out how I wanted it to today. I moved from my hostel over to my new one, called Hostal Atacama North. I walked through what looked like a pretty rough area, and I was worried that my hostel was going to be in the middle of it. Luckily, I turned a corner, and I was on a pretty nice street, with my brand new hostel right in the middle of it. The rooms are a lot nicer, I have my own room, the WIFI is great (and on all the time), and I get breakfast, for the same price as the last hostel ($24). I’m pretty happy with that.
I went to the bus terminal and bought my ticket to go from here to La Serena for tomorrow afternoon. I also got my ticket from La Serena to Santiago for 1 November, so I know I will be there on time for my flight to Easter Island on the 2nd. I got the last seat on the bus too, so I’m really glad I booked this early. I had a decent lunch in town, and then came back to take advantage of the good wifi. I caught up on some football, and other TV shows that I’d recorded, and got to talk to some people as well. I went back out for dinner and had a great Chilean pizza with beef and chilean sausage on it.
I’m back at my hostel now, watching game 7 of the World Series, and just relaxing. It’s very nice here. I have a hectic few weeks coming up, so it’s good to take these chill days when I can. I’m also trying to sort out how I’m going to get from Santiago down to Ushuaia in just two weeks. It’s going to be tricky, but not impossible…
