Lazing in paradise :-)

Airlie Beach, Australia, Australia

Today didn’t consist of much more than just lazing by the lagoon in the center of Airlie Beach. There are no stinger nets up so if you want to swim it has to be in the lagoon. I got there early and found a picnic table in the shade and parked myself there for the majority of the day. Unfortunately, because the lagoon is quite shallow and confined, the water is VERY warm, like a bath. This wasn’t all that refreshing so I didn’t spend as much time in the water as I was hoping.

Still it was a beautiful day and I can think of a lot of worse things to be doing than relaxing on a fake beach in one of the most beautiful villages I’ve seen. I spent the afternoon in the hostel chatting with my roommates from Canada, Wales and England and then when out for Mexican for dinner. Cactus Jack’s was having a deal for as much chilli as you could eat for $10. I wasn’t going to miss that! It was pretty good too, and I’m sure the jug of margaritas helped 🙂

Tonight is going to be spent packing my bag for the cruise. They don’t allow you to bring a big bag on board so I’ll be cramming whatever I need into my small backpack. Should make for a fun evening…
