Last day in Argentina, on the way to Colombia :)

Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America

I couldn’t do too much today because a lot of things were closed here in Buenos Aires with it being Christmas Eve. I went to a shopping mall to pick up those shoes that I saw yesterday, but the mall was completely mental. I don’t know why I expected anything different though. It is Christmas Eve. At a mall.

I ended up getting the pair of sneakers that I wanted, so I’ll be able to play tennis when I get up to Colombia with Melissa. I got some lunch in town and then went back to the hostel to work on my blog for a little while. Since I was away in Antarctica for so long without internet, there is a lot to catch up on. Plus, I managed to find more pictures on my computer from Antarctica that I thought had been deleted, so at least I have something to upload.

The guy at Casa Palermo hostel was really nice, and since I was the only person staying at the hostel, and it was closing down for Christmas tonight, he let me stay and use the room all day, until 8pm tonight. He called me a taxi at 8pm, then got to the Manuel Tienda Leon shuttle company for 8:30pm when my bus left, and I arrived at the airport for 9:30pm. I was really early, considering my plane isn’t leaving until 1:05am, but I was happy to be here early instead of pressing my luck and maybe being late.

I also had enough time to have dinner at the airport, and use their free wifi to FaceTime with Nikki and the girls so I could see them open their Christmas presents. I had my friend Jamie from university make them each a tutu for Christmas, and she sent it down to them in Florida. Bella’s is a Frozen tutu with a picture of Elsa on it, and Fiona’s is pink. They absolutely loved them! They put them on and both started spinning around like little ballerinas. I was so happy to see that they liked them so much, because it’s hard to know what little girls are going to like. Especially since I’m not around them at all so I don’t really know what they’re into right now. But this was definitely a WIN for Uncle Eric!

I’m hanging out at the airport now and it’s very quiet. All the shops are shut, and it looks like there are only a few flights leaving from Buenos Aires airport tonight. The good thing is that my flight is still on time though, so at least I don’t have to worry about that. I just want this night to fly by so I can just wake up and be in Bogota. Fingers crossed!
