So bored!

So bored!

Kamala, Thailand, Asia

So it rained again today, all day. I don’t mind doing nothing when I feel like I’m choosing to do nothing, but being forced into doing nothing just isn’t as fun. Lynne went down into Kamala today and got a massage, but I just wasn’t feeling it, so I hung back for a bit and then met her in the village after. We had a couple of drinks and a bite to eat at a beachside restaurant, but it was raining the entire time. We were sat inside, but the wind kept gusting and covering us with rain anyway.

We went back up to the resort and decided to stage a protest against the rain. We went in the pool and sat out in the deck chairs in the spitting rain for about an hour. It was nice being in the pool for the first time in five days at this resort that has three pools, but the rain kind of ruined the time lying out. Majorly disappointing, and even I’m looking forward to our next day of sunshine. And I hate the sun!!

We went for dinner at Blue Sea restaurant at the resort tonight and split another Thai pizza, which was awesome. What wasn’t awesome was the two singers they have at the restaurant every night. They are an older couple probably in their sixties. They both sing while the man plays his guitar and the woman plays maracas. Don’t get me wrong, they are good singers, when they finally decide what song they are going to sing and stop arguing, but there’s one problem. They go around to each table and sing a couple of songs to each group, and when they come over to Lynne and I, it is always romantic songs. Lynne and I just laugh our way through the uncomfortability of it all, and we’re both afraid to say something to them. They probably don’t speak English all that well, so we’re afraid they’ll get offended and think we’re telling them to stop singing altogether. Ah well, it’s funny to us anyway, so we put up with it for a few nights. I don’t think we’ll be going back there for dinner anyway, so that’s the end of that.
