Bus ride to Santiago
Santiago, Chile, South America
I had a pretty decent sleep last night, so I felt good this morning. I had a good breakfast at the hostel, and headed off at 9am to the bus terminal. I really enjoyed my stay at Hostal El Arbol. It was like staying at a grandma’s house. The owner was so friendly and took care of all of us so well. It was really nice.
I got my bus at 10am, and it was really nice. I had a big wide seat that reclined almost all the way, and I had a single seat to myself with no one next to me. It was just a short six hour ride that flew by pretty quickly. I’m so glad I have my laptop with me so I can watch movies and TV shows to pass the time. I’d be very bored without it.
I arrived in Santiago at about 4pm and got a taxi to my hostel. It was only a five minute ride away to Hostal El Raco, and it’s nicer than I expected. It’s nothing amazing, but I have my own room and my own bathroom for about $22 a night. I’ll take that.
I went out for a bite to eat and then came straight back to the hostel. Santiago doesn’t look like a very impressive city, but I haven’t seen that much of it. I’ll get a chance to see it when Melissa gets here in a week. Tomorrow I have a very exciting day, I’m flying out to Easter Island. It’s a place I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to go to, so I’m really happy to be heading out there tomorrow!
