Very quiet Easter Sunday

Very quiet Easter Sunday

Athens, Greece, Europe

So they weren’t kidding. On Easter, everything in Athens in shut! It made for a very quiet day for me, but that was okay. I chilled at the hotel and watched a few episodes of Entourage, and looked ahead at where to go next. I’m getting a bus to Delphi tomorrow morning, and then I think I’m going to head up to Meteora.

I left the hotel a couple of times just to take a walk and to grab something to eat. It was like walking out into the first scene of 28 Days Later. There was absolutely no one on the streets. It was a dead city. I had to go back up to Monastiraki Square to find something that was open. It seemed that every other tourist in Athens had the same idea because it was full of people. I chilled there for a bit and then made my way back to the hotel. Ready to get moving tomorrow. I’ve really enjoyed my time in Athens, more than I had expected to, and now I’m ready to see something new. Bring on Delphi!
