Tours, Tours, and Tours

Tours, Tours, and Tours

Amsterdam, Holland, Europe

Today we slept until about 11am. For both of us, the main effect of the Space Cake was to make us wicked tired. We felt like we had to get up an not waste our last full day in Amsterdam.

Our first stop was the Van Gogh museum. It was interesting to see a lot of his work that he’s not as well known for. It is amazing to find out he only painted for 10 years before he shot himself, and yet you could see how much his style changed through those 10 years.

We then moved on to the Heineken Brewery for a tour. It was interesting to see the history behind the company and how the logos and advertising have changed since 1864. It was also nice to get a couple of beers at the end of the tour.

Last touristy thing we wanted to do was a boat tour of the city. So we hopped on to a Blue Boat tour and had a nice relaxing boat trip. We were both still so tired that we were falling asleep on the boat, but we couldn’t really hear what the tour operator was saying anyway, so we didn’t really miss too much.

We both realised after having dinner that we’d spent FAR too much money in the last four days, so tonight would be a quiet one. We went out for a few drinks at night to see what the nightlife was like on a Thursday, but ended up calling it a night relatively early. We want to be in decent shape tomorrow anyway as we’re flying off to Milan in the afternoon!
