Madrid, Spain, Europe

Today was my last full day in Europe for the rest of my trip, and that’s pretty exciting! I woke up pretty early this morning but didn’t feel well at all. I had a pretty bad stomach ache and I didn’t move from the couch until about 1pm. Vivi recommended some sort of herbal tea thing as a remedy and it seemed to help a little bit, and then I went out for a walk at lunch time at that seemed to cure me. I just had a slice of pizza for lunch, but it agreed with me, so it was all good.

Vivi and I celebrated my last night in Europe by going out to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, so I could officially cross Madrid off my list. I’d been there before, but only for a drink, but now that I’ve had dinner, it’s off the list.

After dinner I walked around the city for a bit and took some pictures. This was spurned by a photo that Jacquellien sent me of San Miguel Market that I had to take at night. Unfortunately, by the time I showed up there at about 11:15pm, the market was already closed and it was pretty dark. Not exactly the great shot I was hoping for, but oh well. I’ve had a great time here in Madrid, and it’s been nice to hang out with Vivi and Alicia, but I’m ready to move on. I’ll get all my stuff packed up tomorrow morning and then I head off for Cuba in the evening. Very excited to get the next leg of this trip started!
