Finding Ryan’s roots

Finding Ryan’s roots

Barr, United Kingdom, Europe

Today’s motive was to find McWilliam Farm in Barr, Scotland. This was the farm that Ryan’s Great Grandfather lived on, so we thought we would try to find that. We drove for just over two hours to get to Barr, but were unable to find anything that said “McWilliam Farm” on it, so it’s tough to say if we ever did find his family’s land. Regardless, it was a nice drive and the weather ended up being excellent all day.

We moved on from Barr and visited Culzean Castle. I’d never been there before and was very impressed. It’s a massive castle built on cliffs overlooking some of the western isles, including Arran.

With it being the first Sunday night after the festival, the fireworks were on. We went out with Sarah and Soupy to watch the fireworks and have a little pub crawl. We made it through a modest 8 bars and it ended up being another successful night in Edinburgh.
