Chill day; Pats win AFC Championship game

Bogota, Colombia, South America

Melissa and I had a really relaxed morning at the hotel. We slept late. Had a really good breakfast. And thought about playing tennis, but couldn’t really be bothered. This is our last full day together, since I leave tomorrow, and she has to work in the morning. We brought the car to get cleaned around noon, and Luz Mery gave us a ride back down there to pick up the car when it was finished. We had a couple of empanadas for lunch, but we were trying to save our appetites for when we got to Hooters tonight.

We decided to try out the bigger and closer Hooters which is on 116th street instead of 85th street. My hotel is on 119th, so it just made sense. Well we went in there to catch the second half of the Packers vs. Seahawks game, and it was very disappointing. The other Hooters was much smaller but had a good atmosphere to it. This one was just too big and no excitement from the two other people who were watching the game.

We had a bite to eat, and watched the Seahawks pull one of the biggest upsets every after being down by 16 points and coming back to win it in overtime. It was a miracle what they were able to do. We made up our minds that we really didn’t want to sit here for the whole Patriots game, so we hopped in a taxi and headed thirty blocks south to the other Hooters. We got there at the perfect time and managed to get a table with a perfect view of a couple of tv’s and they put the audio on for us in English, unlike the other Hooters. It worked out perfectly. We got a little more food, and some drinks, and watch the Patriots completely dismantle the Colts.

It was such a one-sided game, that we actually left Hooters at the end of the 3rd quarter and watched the rest at the hotel. It ended up being 45-7, and the Patriots have punched their ticket to another Super Bowl. It really has been incredible to see what they’ve done in the last fifteen years. Now I just hope I’ll be able to find a decent place to watch the Super Bowl when I get to Brazil. I wonder if they have Hooters there…
