Back to Melbourne… on Tiger
Melbourne, Australia, Australia
I had a fairly lazy start to the day today. I got up and checked out of the hostel by 8:30am and headed over to the airport. I returned the car and checked in for my flight by 9:05am. I was supposed to fly out at 11:05am, but since I was flying with Tiger, we didn’t actually take off until 1:30pm.
The most annoying thing was that they finally came out with an announcement at 12pm saying that we would be at least another hour. I hadn’t had any breakfast and was starving, so I decided to go over to the cafe and order some lunch. I ordered and paid for my fish and chips, and literally 15 seconds after I paid for it, Tiger made another announcement. This time the announcement was that they were giving everyone on the flight $8 in food vouchers to use at that cafe. Of course they wouldn’t give me my money back that I had just paid them so I had to get some Starbursts and a pack of Mentos, that used up $7. Yeah, that’s right $7 for candy. Australia is expensive.
I’m back home now and not looking forward to unpacking. I always hate that part, but it’s necessary. My clothes stink.
